National Adult Literacy and Numeracy Tests

The national tests in literacy and numeracy provide adult learners with a clear and reliable measure of their achievement and skills. The National Numeracy Tests and the National Literacy Tests are available at Level 1 and Level 2 of the national qualifications framework.

First Aid Appointed Person

The severity of many accidents in the workplace can be reduced by the appointment of a qualified nominee who is capable of taking charge if an injury or illness occurs. The course is as an ideal introduction to First Aid.

Food Safety Level 2 in Catering

This course will provide candidates with a good understanding and knowledge of food safety. The qualification provides an introduction to food safety and focuses on eight key areas, including the law, the principles of safe food storage and food hygiene. This qualification has superseded the Foundation Certificate in Food.

First Aid for Children and Infants

An essential course for anyone who wishes to work in a supervisory capacity with children and infants. This course deals with all accidents and incidents and teaches how to deal with them correctly.

Paediatric First Aid

First Aid for professional child carers, teachers, parents, grandparents, baby sitters or anyone who comes into contact with children. This is a 12 hour course which can be held over 2 days or split into 6 x 2 hour sessions. This course meets requirements for Registered Childminders and the requirements for Nannies under the DfES Approved Carers Scheme.

Child Protection

 It is important for anyone who works in child care to recognise the importance of working in a co-ordinated manner in relation to Child Protection issues. This course is aimed at those who work with children in a variety of settings including schools, youth programmes, family support centres, community groups etc. The course aims to enhance awareness and encourage good practice.

Protection of Vulnerable Adults (POVA)

This is an induction level course for all new staff in care homes, which aims to give learners the awareness, knowledge and confidence they need to protect vulnerable adults.

Health & Safety at Work

This course will meet the training needs of anyone who wants to understand the fundamentals of good health and safety practice within the work place. The course covers the basics of good health and safety practice

Manual Handling

This course will give participants a basic understanding of the factors necessary to ensure their own safety and that of the colleagues and staff they supervise. The course is based upon the principles of safe moving and handling of loads known as the kinetic approach to Manual Handling.

I.C.T. Courses

We have a mix of computer qualifications in all aspects and all levels – ask for more details. Don't let a fear of technology hold you back at work or at home - take that important first step into the world of computers.

Diversity and Equality Awareness

This course is designed to provide an overview of issues and information relating to equality in the workplace. The course content includes current discrimination legislation, labeling, facts about equality etc... The course will help representatives gain an understanding of work related issues.

Customer Service

 A half day training course designed for people who want to improve their customer service and maintain a customer sensitive culture. The course covers questioning and listening skills, as well as teaching students to value their input and provide an understanding of the "tools" required to be professional employees.

Telephone Techniques

A highly practical programme to improve participants’ telephone techniques to enable them to project a professional Company image and handle calls in competent and confident manner over a half day.

Learn 2 Drive(L2D)

The L2D is designed to make the process of learning to drive theory as easy and as efficient as possible. It represents the culmination of many years experience of successfully getting participants through the UK driving theory.
