We give access to and help you interpret a range of up to date information on:

  • Local and national job opportunities
  • Job seeking and the labour market
  • Careers and occupational opportunities
  • Training opportunities
  • Childcare and travel
  • Health and fitness for work
  • Local, regional and national agencies who can help
  • In work benefits and financial advice

Advice and Guidance

We can provide confidential and practical help to:-

  • Discover your skills and explore how you can make best use of them.
  • Develop your confidence through a range of activities.
  • Improve application forms, sharpen your interview skills and prepare a CV.
  • Access a range of agencies, employers and learning providers.

Resources and other support

To facilitate your job search effort we can provide:-

  • Access to free postage, telephones, faxes and Email
  • Free internet and computer access
  • Use of stationery and photocopying facilities
  • Funds to help with interviews and the initial costs of starting a job (eligibility criteria applies)
  • Flexible training funds to help you get the skills you need (eligibility criteria applies)
  • In-work support to help clients stay in work
  • At your request our advisors can act on your behalf with other organisations to ensure you receive the best possible service.

What you can expect from us

Our staff will:-

  • Be courteous and helpful at all times
  • Give our workplace and name when answering the telephone
  • Use plain language
  • Act with honesty, sensitivity and respect

Our staff are experienced and qualified in working with adults and are accredited against recognised national standards.

Where possible you will receive continuous support from the same advisor, if not we will ensure that the advisor you see is aware of your circumstances.

When we are unable to help you we will explain why and where possible arrange for you to see another organisation who can help you. Where possible you will be given a contact name, telephone number and location.

Response times

We will deal promptly with all information and signposting queries. We will arrange an appointment with an advisor within one working week.

We will produce a Curriculum Vitae (CV) within six working days.

We will process applications for job access funds within six working days.

We will keep you informed of progress on any outstanding matter at least once a week.

Four weeks following your initial enquiry, if we have not been in touch with you we will contact you to find out how things are going and see if you need any further help.

What we expect from you

In order for you to get the most out of Job Linkage we would expect you to work with us to achieve your goal.

If you are unable to keep an appointment, we would appreciate it if you could let us know.

We expect all clients using the service to behave respectfully towards all staff and other clients accessing the project.

We need you to tell us when you start work as you may be eligible for extra support.

Quality

Job Linkage is committed to improving the quality of the services it provides and is accredited by the Matrix National Quality Standard Framework. We are members of the local Information Advice and Guidance Network (nextstep) and the National Association for Educational Guidance for Adults (NAEGA).

Your views

We welcome your views on Job Linkage and will use any feedback to improve our service through better planning. This service is reviewed annually to reflect any feedback we receive which affects our service. Please use our suggestion sheets for either complaints or compliments or contact the local Centre manager . Any complaints received by Job Linkage will be acknowledged within seven days and resolved within six weeks.
